Gardening Services FAQS

Listed below are some of the common garden maintenance and garden service questions and answers.

If you cannot find an answer to your question, then book a free consultation today.

Answer: How often you need gardening services depends on how often you want gardening services. If you’re happy doing most of your garden maintenance then a once per year garden tidy up can be enough. If you want our gardeners to do most of the work then weekly or fortnightly visits are essential. If you will cut the grass then a once monthly gardening service to deal with the weeds and shrubs and hedges could be enough. You have lots of options!

Answer: The Gardeners Guild is the only trade association for maintenance gardeners and we are members to show the importance of high standards of workmanship for which the Gardeners Guild stands

Answer: All our gardeners a trained within the company. Though we will have some team members with less experience, they are always accompanied by at least one fully trained gardener with a professionally recognised industry qualification.

Answer: Yes, we will always take all clippings away with us from any gardening job unless you want us to compost these cuttings at your garden.

Answer: Unfortunately not. If we worked weekends we would be in danger of burning the candle at both ends. Our gardeners work hard all week and use the weekends to reboot & do their own gardens of course!

Answer: Most gardening services can be carried out within 2 weeks of agreeing your quote. If longer than this is required that is usually because a gardening job needs to be carried out at a certain time. One of the glden rules of gardening for example is to never hard prune Rhododendron in September – if you still want a display of their flowers in the Spring!

Answer: As true gardeners, we love the transformation possible with overgrown gardens. Taming a “jungle” garden and making it a livable green space again is one of the joys of the garden maintenance business.

Answer: The answer to this will be decided by how much gardening work is required, which is decided by the nature of the result required. All this will be discussed at quote time and a fixed price will be given for the work on your garden.

Answer: When we are training new gardeners, the first plants they learn are the most common weeds. Why? Well, not to avoid them but to attack them and weed them out leaving your garden beds looking their best.

Answer: Not at all. Though there are jobs that slow down or stop, winter is a great season to tackle a myriad of gardening jobs like power washing, mulching and fruit tree pruning that can be overlooked during the faster growing months. With our milder climate in Northern Ireland as well, even the grass sometimes still needs cut in Winter.
